Day

Ulaanbaatar
Arrive in and transfer to hotel. Tour the Museum of Natural History with its splendid collection of Dinosaur exhibits. Evening motorcoach tour of Ulaanbaatar, including the World War II Memorial at Zaisan if time permits.

Day

Bayangobi/Karakorum
Drive to Bayangobi and continue to Karakorum. Visit to a horse-breeder’s camp to see the making of airag (the Mongolian national drink of fermented mare’s milk) and horseback riding on Mongolian wooden saddles. Visit Erdene Zuu which was once one of the largest monasteries in Mongolia and was almost destroyed in the 1930s. Visit to the symbolic ruins of Karakorum, the 13th century capital of the Mongol Empire.

Karakorum/Amarbayasgalant
Breakfast at base camp. Drive to Amarbayasgalant Monastery. Tour the grounds of Amarbayasgalant Monastery which was established in early 17th century. This is the 2nd largest & important monastery in Mongolia.

Amarbayasgalant/Ulaanbaatar
Drive to Ulaanbaatar. En route stop by Darkhan city, the second largest city in Mongolia. Brief tour of the city and visit to local museum. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar late afternoon.

Day

Ulaanbaatar
Continue explore the Ulaanbaatar city. Visit Gandan Monastery & enjoy the majestic view of the 20-tons statue of Migjid Janraiseg, adorned with gold & jewels. Tour the Fine Arts Museum followed by a visit to Museum of National History. Evening cultural performance. Gala dinner.
